COMPORTA HOUSE

Located in a unique environment, in the Natural Reserve of the Estuário do Sado, surrounded by rice fields, dunes, the ocean and a pine forest, the Comporta House was designed for a numerous family. The main objectives for this home were to create a comfortable environment, a relaxed space worthy of a holiday/weekend home, that generates the idea of a refugee and to fulfil the desire of having family and friends over.

The majority of the time is spent outside in the fresh air. So, in addition to an existing pool, several areas were created for one to relax. Moreover, a secondary dining area was designed, being now one of the most lived-in spaces.

The elegant simplicity of the interiors allows for the space to provide that feeling of comfort and relaxation that was desired. The decor has at its core neutral tones but is then splashed with pops of colour, texture and natural materials such as wood and straw.

The house’s architecture offers a living room & kitchen, main suite, bedrooms, and an annexe with two more functional rooms. All these spaces are connected by the exterior deck area that works as a platform, providing access to all parts of the house. The bedrooms work in perfect harmony with the exterior, each one with its own unique view. This makes us feel that the décor is born from a fusion between the interior and the exterior. Maximum comfort was the key element for these places designed to relax, always respecting the client’s main request – simplicity in the elements chosen for the interiors.
