I was born in Lisbon in 1969. Since I was little, I have found beauty in the details, in colours, in each space’s hidden corners. I am passionate about the history of each home and of every place.

I graduated in Interior Design and Equipment at IADE – University of Design, Technology and Communication.

I began my professional career, in 1991, at the Atelier of architects Dulce Loução and António Cesar. In the following years, I executed various private projects and joined several teams connected to the world of Interior Architecture. I fell in love with the world of décor in 1993, when I worked with architect Augusto Vasco Costa and decorator Conceição Vasco Costa.

In 2005 I founded the Atelier Sofia Novais Interior Design and Décor, fulfilling a long-sought-out dream. Since then, I have developed several projects for private homes, offices and in the hospitality area. Additionally, I specialized in interior architecture and décor projects in the Health Care sector, where several projects for the Luz Saúde and Misericórdias Portuguesas group are worth mentioning such as the Hospital da luz in Lisbon, Oeiras, Arrábida, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, Misericórdia de Mora, among others.

In the Atelier, each project responds to the essence of what is really needed, from consulting on the definition of the spaces and selection of equipment to interior architecture projects, architecture, decoration and turnkey projects that include the coordination of all associated specialities.
